Water in a cable, a corroded connector, an aerial knocked out of line by the wind or a failed amplifier are all quicker and cheaper to fix than a new aerial. When a new one really is needed, we choose it for the signal at your address.
Local knowledge
Surrey has no single TV transmitter. Which one your aerial should point at depends on where you live and what’s between you and the mast, and getting it right is the difference between every channel and a picture that breaks up.
Most of Woking, Weybridge, Walton, Cobham, Leatherhead and Epsom point at Crystal Palace in south London, which carries the full Freeview line-up and London regional news. Homes on the slopes of the North Downs can be shadowed and may need a different aerial or a taller mast.
Around Camberley, Farnham, Bagshot and Lightwater, many homes get a stronger signal from Hannington in north Hampshire, with BBC South and ITV Meridian news. Some can receive both Hannington and Crystal Palace, so we check which suits your address best.
Haslemere, Hindhead and parts of Godalming look to Midhurst, while Reigate, Redhill and Horley use the Reigate transmitter. Small relays such as Guildford and Dorking fill the gaps but carry fewer channels, which is why a relay aerial can be missing some stations.
